The Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) is a body corporate established by the Zimbabwe Youth Council Act [Chapter 25:19], originally enacted in 1983 and amended in 1997.
We are the principal vehicle of linkage between Government and the youth of Zimbabwe — coordinating, supervising and fostering youth associations and clubs from grassroots to national level.
ZYC operates under the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, and aligns its programmes with the National Youth Policy and the African Youth Charter.

Co-ordinate, supervise and foster the activities of national associations and clubs.
Ensure the proper administration of national associations and clubs.
Participate in national and international youth activities.
Advise the Government on the needs of young people in Zimbabwe.
With the approval of the Minister, undertake projects designed to create employment for young people, including fund-raising, marketing and trading activities.
Equipping young people with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, mentorship and capacity-building to thrive in the modern economy.
Registering and supervising youth clubs, associations and organisations from grassroots to national level under the ZYC Act.
Projects to create jobs and economic opportunities for youth — including fund-raising, marketing and trading initiatives.
Representing the voice of Zimbabwe's youth in policy dialogues and convening platforms like the Youth Model Parliament (Dare re Vadiki / Inkundla ya Batsha).
Bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and provinces to build one Zimbabwe.
Targeted interventions on HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental health and overall youth well-being.
Zimbabwe's youth empowerment programmes are anchored in the National Youth Policy, a framework aligned with the Constitution, the African Youth Charter, and Vision 2030 — a Prosperous Upper Middle Income Nation.
The Policy is built around 12 strategic priority pillars that ZYC works to advance through its programmes and partnerships with associations across all 10 provinces.
